Scytale is an early-stage InfoSec startup AKA the global leader in security compliance automation. We’re based in Tel Aviv and Johannesburg, and we help SaaS companies get compliant and stay compliant with security frameworks like SOC 2, ISO 27001 and HIPAA, without breaking a sweat of course.
Scytale is looking for a VP R&D to be the leader of our engineering team. The new VP R&D should be experienced taking software companies to maturity and scalability across multiple regions. You will be responsible for managing the R&D efforts, lead the company’s R&D strategy, develop processes to ensure smooth delivery, mentor team-members and ensure alignment with company & R&D targets. The ideal candidate is a computer enthusiast who lives, loves and breathes software.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the R&D team which consists of Developers, Data Engineers and DevOps Engineers who are based in Israel and abroad
- Define R&D strategy and methodologies and optimise work processes to improve delivery
- Work closely with the CTO, the Product team, and other stakeholders to create a scalable compliance platform
- Set, monitor and achieve quarterly development targets across the board in accordance with the company’s KPIs & OKRs
- Provide continuous architecture improvements to the company’s product in order to take it to new levels
- Report on key metrics, planning vs. actual key results, insights and more to the management
Requirements:
- 2+ years of proven experience leading other managers, and developing, coaching & retaining high-value employees – MUST
- 10+ years of development experience
- Experience working in a SaaS startup
- Strong experience with R&D process & procedures, routines, coding, CI/CD pipelines, testing, deployments and maintenance
- Elite technology military unit experience – advantage
- Strong understanding of scalable applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent English and ability to communicate fluently with employees abroad
- Excellent organizational, time management and team player skills
- Passion for innovation and ability to drive changes needed to improve and achieve operational excellence for the R&D team
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- BSc in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent – MUST
