Role Overview

Scytale is seeking a Market Intelligence Specialist to join our team. This role is in the Johannesburg office and requires a strong analytical mindset, research capabilities, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. You will be responsible for gathering and analyzing market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer insights to support Scytale’s strategic decision-making, product positioning, and sales enablement efforts.

  • Tech-Savvy: Excellent knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, or similar), databases, and MS Office; familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot) is a plus.​
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve company goals.​
  • Additional Skills: A solid grasp of numbers and analytics, along with basic math skills, is an advantage.​


Education & Experience

  • Degree: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field is required.​
  • Additional Qualifications: Graduating with honors is a bonus.​
  • Experience: Background in SaaS, cybersecurity, compliance, or technology markets is an advantage.​


Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Identify & Engage: Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to identify new business opportunities, customer needs, and emerging threats.​
  • Reach Out: Analyze customer and prospect data to uncover insights that drive strategic initiatives, supporting the sales and marketing teams with actionable intelligence.​
  • Schedule Meetings: Develop and maintain competitor intelligence reports, tracking key players in the security compliance market, and present findings to key stakeholders, including executives, in clear and compelling reports.​
  • Pipeline Growth: Monitor industry regulations, compliance frameworks, and AI-related security trends to ensure Scytale remains ahead of the curve, collaborating with product and marketing teams to refine messaging and positioning based on market data.​
  • Follow-Up: Assist in lead scoring and qualification by providing research-backed insights, re-engaging with leads that didn’t convert by providing them with new value propositions.​
  • Collaborate: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure smooth transitions and hand-offs, helping them close deals efficiently.​
  • Track & Report: Track your research efforts and provide insights to leadership on your progress, goals, and outcomes.​
