As a financial controller in our fast-growing SaaS startup, you will be at the forefront of building and strengthening our finance function from the ground up. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your core accounting and compliance skills in a dynamic tech environment, while also gaining exposure to the operational and strategic aspects of running a subscription-based business.
You will be working closely with the Director of Finance. Your responsibilities will range from managing GLs and revenue collections to tracking expenses and critical SaaS KPIs. Over time, you’ll also contribute to financial modelling, budgeting, and performance analysis to support key business decisions.
This is an ideal role for a newly qualified CA who is eager to move beyond traditional finance roles and step into the exciting world of tech startups — where speed, adaptability, and learning by doing are essential.
Requirements
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 0–2 years of post-articles experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting, audit fundamentals.
- Excellent Excel / Google Sheets skills; exposure to financial modelling is a plus.
- Familiarity with accounting tools
- Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Eagerness to learn, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements
- Manage GL and ensure accuracy in financial books.
- Maintain documentation and support for audits and internal controls.
SaaS Revenue & Metrics
- Assist in subscription revenue recognition
- Help track key SaaS metrics such as:
- MRR/ARR (Monthly/Annual Recurring Revenue)
- Churn, CAC, LTV, Burn Rate, and Runway
- Prepare dashboards or reports for internal and investor use.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support in building financial models, budgets, and forecasts.
- Conduct variance analysis and assist in cost control initiatives.
Operational Finance
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations like vendor payments, invoicing, collections, expense tracking, and reimbursements.
- Assist with payroll processing in collaboration with HR.
